David Filice is a seasoned music industry professional with 25 years of diverse experience as a bassist, producer, Billboard-charting songwriter, and music educator. He has toured and performed with multiple platinum and Grammy-winning artists, including American Idol alum David Archuleta—touring arenas on a 2009 tour featuring co-headliner Demi Lovato—as well as legendary acts such as rap icon Darryl “DMC” McDaniels of RUN-DMC and famed guitarist Richie Kotzen ofPoison and Mr. Big.
His touring resume includes performances with Bret Michaels, The Rembrandts, Bono and The Edge on an American Idol season finale, Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), Trace Adkins, Robbie Williams, American Idol winner Kris Allen, Sophie B. Hawkins, The Motels, and more. Before focusing on touring, David built a solid foundation as a film and television composer, co-creating scores for films on Showtime and for shows on networks including E!, MTV, VH1, Fox, ABC, Disney Channel, A&E, Bravo, Discovery, HBO, and Cinemax. He further expanded his musical repertoire as a band member with the Los Angeles-based Afro-Cuban funk-rock-soul outfit One Tribe Nation (2005–2012), where he co-wrote the album We Are The One. In 2017, he co-founded the bicoastal “beachy” pop group Vacation Music Club with singer/songwriter Matt Hartke; their EP, Vol. 1, features veteran backing musicians with credits including Mick Jagger, Kelly Clarkson, Smashmouth, and Ariana Grande.
In addition, David is deeply committed to community outreach. For the past 20 years, he has worked with at-risk youth at My Friends Place and Covenant House, where he has led talks and music programs that offer teens a safe space to heal and find peace through music. Drawing on his multifaceted career and the lessons learned—including overcoming one of the most catastrophic concert events in U.S. history—David delivers presentations that resonate with both the human spirit and the art of music. In his forthcoming book, Life Lessons from the Pursuit of Music, he distills decades of industry expertise and invaluable insights into powerful lessons on resilience, purpose, and finding your own voice.
The City Club maintains a dress code.
Attire can certainly elevate or diminish the experience of others. They consider ball caps or beanies, tank tops, flip flops, distressed denim, shorts, team athletic attire, and t-shirts with no jacket as too casual for City Club LA. Their staff takes pride in their appearance, so they ask their members and their guests to respect their dress code at all times.
