Prior to joining the organization\, he served as President and COO of CRISTA Ministries in the Seattle area. Before transitioning into ministry leadership\, Yasuda spent 25 years in the broadcasting industry\, holding positions at television stations in Los Angeles\, San Antonio\, Monterey\, and Honolulu. He has also been deeply involved in community service\, including serving as a board member of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. Jon received his B.A. in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles. \nAlbert Kae\, VP of Men’s MinistryAlbert is an ordained pastor within the Christian Reformed Church (CRCNA)\, and he joined the Union Rescue Mission as a chaplain intern after earning his Master of Divinity in 2015. Prior to going into chaplain ministry\, he graduated from the University of California\, Berkeley with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. After working in Silicon Valley as a consultant and project manager\, he received God’s call to go into ministry. Albert is passionate about thinking through the theological implications of encountering Jesus Christ “outside the camp” (Heb 13:13)—whether on Skid Row or in the LA County jails. \nCynthia Jimenez\, Executive Director of Family Emergency ServicesCynthia currently serves as Executive Director of Emergency Services at Union Rescue Mission\, overseeing the care of our families at our downtown Los Angeles site. She has been with Union Rescue Mission for 16 years and has held a variety of positions. She is motivated by seeing God amid devastation and being light in the darkness coupled with having a front seat at life transformation. Cynthia received her B.A. In Intercultural Studies from Biola University. \n \nMore about Frank Mottek \nFrank Mottek is “The Voice of Business News in Los Angeles.” He is currently the host of the business news program Mottek On Money at 4pm weekdays live on 790 KABC in Los Angeles and on demand podcast. He previously served as business news anchor on the all-news CBS radio station in L.A. In 2021\, he received the RTNA “Golden Mike Award” for Best Business and Consumer Reporting during the pandemic year. \nIn 2016\, Frank also received the Distinguished Journalist Award from the Society of Professional Journalists LA Chapter. Frank is an award winning broadcaster with more than 30 years experience in radio and television news including KTLA Channel 5\, CBS-2 and KCAL9 in Los Angeles. On national television he served as sub anchor for financial news pioneer Paul Kangas on “The Nightly Business Report” on PBS. \nFor many years he served as news anchor/reporter on radio and television in Miami. His experience includes broadcasting the live descriptions of more than 20 space shuttle launches on the CBS Radio Network. He was an eyewitness to the 1986 Challenger disaster at the Kennedy Space Center. He was also part of WTVJ’s Peabody Award winning TV coverage of Hurricane Andrew in 1992. \nIn Los Angeles\, Frank served as anchor and reporter on major stories including the Northridge Earthquake\, OJ Simpson trials\, space shuttle landings\, Hollywood awards shows\, fire storms and floods. He extensively covered the financial crisis as it unfolded in 2008 and Covid pandemic in 2020. \nFrank has lead some of the highest profile business events for groups including the Milken Institute\, Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation\, L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce\, Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce\, Association for Corporate Growth-LA\, CSUDH South Bay Economic Forecast and China California Business Forum. \nFrank created and taught the Newsradio JOUR 407 course at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism where he single-handedly upheld radio instruction for ten years. \nHe has previously served as President of the Florida AP Broadcasters and currently serves on the board as Past-President of the L.A. Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Frank also serves on the executive board of the Concern Foundation for Cancer Research and on the board of directors of the Radio Television News Association of Southern California. \nHe is also currently serving as Media\, Events and Major Gifts Officer at the Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles. He co-hosts The Way Home Radio Show and podcast on 790 KABC.
