Want to help with LA5's hygiene kit project?

Want to be part of a collaboration with the first five clubs?

We have lots of opportunities!

In honor of Homelessness Awareness Week (November 15 - 22), LA5 is participating in a joint service project to assemble and distribute hygiene kits to our homeless neighbors.

This project is a collaboration among the first five Rotary clubs in the history of Rotary (!) and we aim to collectively distribute over 10,000 hygiene kits across all five cities and introduce our neighbors without shelter to additional community resources while doing so.

Thanks to several generous donors, the following are items included in the hygiene kits thus far:

  • 2,500 basic hygiene kits, which include toothbrushes, toothpaste, washcloths, bars of soap, combs. (Thanks to Latter-Day Saints Charities and President Matt Ball!)
  • Socks and soaps. (Thanks to Shelter Partnership!)
  • Personal protective equipment. (Thanks to LA County Health Department!)

But we aren't done! At this moment, we need additional items to complete these kits and make them truly meaningful with the Rotary touch!

Please read on and provide your support in the best way suited for you ...

Purchase additional items for the hygiene kits.

An Amazon wishlist has been created - items purchased will ship directly to the project coordinators.

Highest need items are:

2-gallon sized bags, electrolyte powders, sunscreen, hand/body lotion, and mini bottles of conditioning shampoo.

Also included on the list are brown paper bags to decorate for feminine hygiene kits.

Purchase feminine hygiene products.

An Amazon wishlist has been created - items purchased will ship directly to the project coordinators.

Hygiene products are often left off needs lists when it is more important to get food or water. We want to give our neighbors one opportunity to not have to choose between their feminine hygiene or a meal.
