As LA5 members will recall The Peace Committee had scheduled a great program to fulfill our mission of building an awareness of peace as a means to address world and local issues. This is also a unique opportunity for LA5 members to get to know one another better within the context of peace conversations.
The plan is to hold dinner “salon” meetings in member homes - all on the same night, focused around the topic for discussion of Understanding Through the Lens of Culture. Each attendee (who desires) will have the opportunity to introduce themselves by way of their own self-identified cultural background. A facilitator will have a few questions to gently guide the discussion.
Due to covid we had to postpose the program, but we have rescheduled these Peace Dinner Salons for Saturday, March 26, 6:00 – 10:00 pm!
To accommodate up to 10 LA5 members (and a spouse/partner) per location, and with reasonable travel time - we are again seeking six to eight LA5 members to offer to host in their home, in regions where members reside, e.g., DTLA/adjacent, Westside, South Bay, Pasadena, San Gabriel Valley, Orange County, etc. Each host could prepare the meal, or do a pot luck and ask for food contributions once attendees are identified and assigned to a location.
We will provide more information soon. For now, please hold the date March 26 and whet your appetite for a truly special evening of LA5 fellowship!
