Michelle was born and raised in Los Angeles, moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for school, and then lived in San Diego for 15 years before moving back to Los Angeles.

Her extended family is very important to her; her mother is turning 80 this year, and she returned to Los Angeles in part to live with her.

Michelle graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Political Science in 1995 and then from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law with a J.D. in 2001.

In addition to being a member of the California State Bar, Michelle is also an event organizer and member of Learn, Teach, Code and Women Who Code Los Angeles.

Her hobbies are baking, exercising, coding, and learning. She is almost always taking a class in something, right now she is taking a data science class.
