LA5 is proud to continue its longstanding tradition of sponsoring the LA District Attorney’s Courageous Citizen Awards. Join us in celebrating and honoring courageous citizens of Los Angeles who have made a significant impact to the safety and wellness of others through acts of courage.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Courage Awards recognize individuals who have bravely stepped forward in extraordinary moments of crisis to help others. Whether it is coming to the aid of crime victims, helping prevent a crime or testifying under duress, honorees exemplify courage, compassion and a profound sense of civic responsibility.
The Courage Awards, formerly known as the Courageous Citizen Awards, were first presented in 1986 and are handed out at regional luncheons hosted by local service organizations across Los Angeles County. Award recipients are nominated by Deputy District Attorneys and others in the office.
This kind of public recognition inspires others to do the right thing when the time calls, proving that heroism can come from anyone, anywhere and at any time.
