A Spirit of Generosity
Founded in 1909, the Rotary Club of Los Angeles, one of Rotary’s oldest clubs, has a rich history of community service. Central to this mission is the Rotary Club of Los Angeles Foundation, which supports various community efforts through generous donations. The Foundation manages over $10 million, focusing on educational scholarships for LAUSD students and those pursuing trade skills, having awarded over $2 million in scholarships to date.
Guided by a board of club members with five-year terms, the Foundation aligns with each Club president’s goals, ensuring ongoing success. Member contributions are crucial, and various giving levels provide opportunities for support, including annual donations, project-specific contributions, and estate planning. No matter your financial capacity or purpose for giving, there is a meaningful way to contribute to the LA5 Foundation.

LA5 Foundation Giving Levels
Community Support
- A DOLLAR A DAY—$365 or more: Funds the current year’s Community Grants and supports major projects.
- CHILDREN’S COURT: Gifts directly support foster and transitional youth with health, wellness, education, and vocational needs.
Endowment & Legacy Giving
- FRIEND OF THE ENDOWMENT—$1,000: Directed to the endowment and recognized with a gift.
- FOUNDATION FELLOW—$5,000: Directed to the endowment, recognized with a gift.
- FOUNDATION BENEFACTOR—$10,000: Recognizes individuals who have made gifts of $10,000 or more to the Foundation.
- LEGACY CIRCLE—$10,000 or more: Individuals and couples who have substantiated a future gift of $10,000 or more are listed as members.
- ENDOWED FUNDS—$25,000: Create a named fund in honor of yourself, your family, or a loved one.
Scholarships
- NAMED VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP—$25,000: Supports young people mastering a trade; named in perpetuity.
- NAMED ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP—$250,000: Supports high school students admitted to college; named in perpetuity.
*Limited numbers of named scholarships are available. Contact the Foundation for more information. Note: LA5 Past Presidents have the privilege of establishing a scholarship fund in their name for a gift of $10,000. This one-time scholarship supports students for four years.
