On August 21st we will hear from Denise Gutches and Amy Kradolfer of FilmLA, the official partner of the City and County of Los Angeles that coordinates and processes on-location motion picture, television, and commercial permits.

The Film Industry is a vital economic driver for the Greater Los Angeles region. This presentation will provide an overview of the current local production landscape highlighting the industry’s economic impact, FilmLA’s role in supporting content creators and educating communities, addressing common misconceptions, and explaining some of the current initiatives, tax incentives, and policy efforts aimed at attracting and sustaining production throughout the region.

Denise Gutches is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and former Chief Financial and Operations Officer (CFO/COO) at FilmLA, the official film office of the Greater Los Angeles region. She has spent over 35 years in strategic planning, operations, and risk management, serving as a vital advocate for keeping local entertainment production in Southern California.

With a background in theatre, Amy Kradolfer found a natural transition into the film and television industry after moving to Los Angeles and starting her career with FilmLA. In her current role as Director of Communications, she leads the Solution Services Department encompassing Production Planning and Community Outreach teams that work to promote and support filming throughout Greater Los Angeles.Â
