Let's celebrate the membership of LA5. To drive new and targeted members. To create value and a chance to have fun for the members. To make LA5 fun and interesting. Imagine it's 1940's Hollywood aka The Golden Age and you and all of the other movie stars from all over the globe are in Hollywood for the Academy Awards. It's Saturday night, March 9th and anyone who's anyone is at the LA Rotary 5 Academy Party. This is THE place to be. Nothing else even compares. Nothing. The party takes place directly under the Hollywood sign on a beautiful magical afternoon.

Attendees represent the leading movie stars many of whom have never met each other. That is until tonight. In all the years of Hollywood parties there has never been one as glamorous, hotly anticipated and chock full of all the movie stars. Some French, others German and others from Spain, Italy, Japan and of course Hollywood. There will be charming language barriers, cultural differences, competitors, alliances with current and past and future lovers. All of them thrown together to support Hollywood's biggest night and the world's greatest Rotary...LA5!

This is an interactive live play masquerading as a party. Each movie star will wholly adopt their chosen character/persona and stay in character for the duration of the party. No one will respond to or even address who they are, whether or not they know each other. No Rotary business will be conducted or discussed unless you do so fully in character.

This is a fun evening to masquerade as anyone you have ever wanted to be. You don't have to be immediately recognized as a famous person. Create a persona and your movie star. Remember you are a movie star! Just make it up and let loose. As part of your adopted movie star persona, you are encouraged to come for a party as your character. Take the time to dress up, be flamboyant, look the part, be wild, creative. It's not you, who is attending, its your persona. It's a play you're in costume and free to be. Wholly adopt and immerses yourself in this character. This role. Own it and be it!

THIS IS THE NIGHT BEFORE THE ACADEMY AWARDS. THERE IS NO SHOW TO WATCH AS THE ACADEMY AWARD SHOW IS THE NEXT NIGHT. EVERYBODY is there and they are meeting each other, in many cases for the very first time!

Q&A-

Do I have to buy or be in costume? No, you don't have to buy a costume but your costume must reflect who you are as a movie star. Remember, you are in Hollywood's glamour age and you must be glamorous. Dress up, be flamboyant and over the top. Movie stars are not meek, quiet. They are bright ,bold unique, quirky. They are artists that are loved by everyone all over the world. Be entitled, spoiled accustomed to being fawned over. Enjoy..be outrageous.

Does my character/persona need to be immediately recognizable ala John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe? No, in fact it's suggested that unless you have an easily recognizable persona down pat, we suggest you make up a name and persona and be that movie star. Remember that you are from all over the world and Italian movie stars may not know German movie stars. You know who they are and that they're famous but you don't know them. So be free, give yourself a name, adopt a persona and be that star.

How will the other attendees know who I am? STAR NAME TAGS WILL BE AFFIXED AT THE DOOR. Everyone one will wear a name tag and be spoken to by that name and its related persona only. Your real life name will not be used. So have fun and be the famous person you would love to be.

Driving vs. Lyft/Uber? PARKING IS SCARCE. Given that it's Saturday night and the multitude of glamorous and sophisticated attendees, we strongly recommend you use Lyft/Uber as parking will be extremely limited.
