A Catalyst for Change
Myanmar’s Chief of State and our friend, Aung San Suu Kyi, told us at least 20,000 of her country’s villages need water systems like ours and asked, “Could Rotary become a catalyst to construct these?”
The answer is yes. Our network of Rotarians that have helped provide safe, clean water for underserved Villages and orphanages in Myanmar. A humanitarian “water on demand” project that has been providing water systems in Myanmar for the last 15 years and served over 50,000 people in need of clean potable water.
To date, contributions from Rotary Clubs and individual Rotarians of $370,000 have helped over 50,000 people in Myanmar. The Rotary Foundation has contributed $140,000 in grants.
