Julissa is a student at Occidental College and used her scholarship money to pay for books, necessary programs to analyze data, lab equipment, transportation, and school supplies. This is what Julissa wants to share with LA5: 

"1. I have gained 'senior status' although I am an incoming junior in the research lab I joined as a first-year 2. I am doing an online internship with a biological station in Costa Rica 3. I am part of the student body in charge of the new student orientation 4. I will be VP of presentations for Boundless Brilliance this incoming school year (A STEM empowerment non-profit that delivers presentations to LAUSD elementary schools)"
