During last Friday’s meeting I asked the members of our club to consider making an additional contribution to the Community Grants Fund to cover the remaining $15,000 needed to support Families Are Forever—this year’s Community Grants project.
The LA5 Foundation is prepared to cover that unfunded amount so that our club may keep our financial commitment to the five organizations we chose to support. I asked the members to join me in making an additional contribution so that the LA5 Foundation could repurpose the $15,000 it has held in reserve to make more face shields available to frontline healthcare workers in our community.
I am grateful that many of you responded to that appeal. Your generosity reminds me how Rotarians are committed to stand in the gap when needs arise.
